Gran T Drives a Big Rig

Well, not really. But I'm sure she would if she knew she'd have these two pint-size trucker buddies riding shotgun. The kids had a blast playing in the U-Haul and going for a devastatingly brief ride down Maple Street.

Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

Patrick's annual pumpkin patch field trip a few weeks ago was a blast, and we can hardly believe it was their last one! The boys were much more independent this year, and especially enjoyed their balloon swords.

Mommy Shoes

Madeline thinks she is soooo funny when she wears my shoes. This must be a pretty close approximation to what I look like in the morning.

Lunch in A Bag

Patrick's school field trip to the pumpkin patch was rained out last Friday, but he hardly cared, so excited was he that he could bring his picnic lunch to school anyway! This was our actual conversation on the way to school:

Do I have a peanut butter sandwich in my lunch bag?
Do you think Fynn is bringing his lunch in a bag?
I am going to save my goldfish for snack.
Mommy, I am so happy I am bringing my lunch to school in a bag.
Do Grammy and Grandaddy know I have my lunch in a bag?

We'll make another attempt at pumpkin patch this Friday, but if the weather lets us down we'll still get the thrill of our little man bringing lunch in a bag!

Pumpkin Pickin' 2011

Cox Farms never fails to disappoint for full-on fall fun. We had a great time riding the slides, taking a hay ride, and watching Patrick milk a cow!

Class of 2030

We've submitted the above to the UVA admissions office...

Game Day

We took the kids to the UVA/Idaho game on Saturday. Our tiny cheerleader got to meet the real UVA cheerleaders when our tailgate was chosen tailgate of the week, thanks to the new Hoo Haul, a tricked-out tailgate truck (customized by one of the unmarried members of the tailgate crew) complete with television, kegerator, and 30-foot flagpole. Gran T came up for the day, and Madeline and Patrick got to share the UVA football experience with their good buddies Fynn and Ella. We squeaked out a win against Idaho, and thus guaranteed that Donald had a good day too.

We Become Soccer Parents

Donald and I are officially a soccer mom and dad, and we love it. Patrick had a great time with coach Ross and all of his Abra classmates last Friday. The kids had a ball playing games like "red light, green light" and tackling their coach. It seems like we're in for a really fun season.
