Donald snapped this at 10 p.m. last night. Lately Madeline has been lining up her dolls to attend "Jackie's Wedding" almost every night; Jackie being my cousin whose wedding Madeline has only heard about second-hand. She knows however that a wedding involves cake, a pretty dress, dancing, and apparently as many guests as her crib will hold.

Fine Dining
Patrick asked for a Hawaiian shirt for his birthday so he could look like his dad when he 'dressed up.' This year we introduced the kids to the wonders of the Shirley Temple, seen here at the clambake at the Chatham Bars Inn.
Field of Dreams
We arrived in Chatham last Sat in time to catch a Cape Cod League playoff game between Orleans and Chatham on a perfectly cool Cape Cod night. Patrick and Madeline enjoyed running races against each other after a long day in the car.

Now We Are 6
The Force--and 100 degree weather--was with us for Patrick's sixth birthday party back in July. Patrick suggested a theme of Star Wars and 'games' and so we had a themed football toss, ring toss, water balloon toss, and obstacle course complete with pool noodle light sabers. Patrick loved the party but really savored the party prep--planning the cake, stuffing the party bags, filling the water balloons, and having Colton and Carrington around in the fun-filled days leading up to the party.
Making the party bags: one of Patrick's favorite parts. |

The Carrington Liner Appreciation Society
Colton, Carrington, Aunt Whitney and Gran T all came to visit for Donald and Patrick's birthday and we were thrilled to welcome Carrington to our house for the first time. Madeline was especially delighted, and made us chuckle when we realized she was dragging a step stool around the kitchen so that whenever Donald stopped she could climb up and be eye-to-eye with her beloved cousin.

Yo Ho Mateys
I took Patrick, Fynn, and Ben to the Real Pirates exhibit at NGS on Weds. Highlights included hoisting the Black Flag, giving the soft serve ice cream machine a run for its money, and scaring my office mates with plastic bugs.
Farewell Mary Poppins
Patrick and Fynn spent an amazing July with the incomparable Ms. Katy.Making chalk paint, homemade ice cream, visiting the zoo, Air and Space Museum, the Museum of Natural History, going to countless library programs, reading, and sports were just SOME of their many adventures. Her future students are very lucky indeed.
