Fun on the Fourth

Well, it wouldn't have been the Fourth of July without a pirate treasure hunt, long days at Rocky Point, and lots of cousin fun.....

Concrete

It is true that it can be fun to watch cement dry...especially when it's in your future playroom!!!! We have a front row seat in our little garage apartment!

Swim Team

There they are, waiting for the whistle to blow so they can jump back in. Summer was over in a blink, but we loved being a part of swim team while it lasted. Patrick and his LHP teammates broke a record for 8/u freestyle relay, and Madeline won "best hair" award at the banquet. I loved the meets, and definitely shed a tear when we watched the kids gather for their team photo. Summer days are the very best days.

Art Camp

One of the best things about summer was Ms. Tios art camp. The kids put on an art show every Friday and were so proud to show off their work.

Soccer Star

Three goals in her first game! She woke up on Sunday and wanted Donald to take her to the middle school to practice some more!

Baseball Birthday

This year Donald "let's not make this into a big thing" Thomas created the ultimate Home Run Derby for his and Patrick's big day.

Deconstruction

So much progress on the deconstruction these past few weeks! We arrived home on Friday to a simply enormous hole where the basement will be. According to Mike we've got "good dirt," which sounds very encouraging. I was expecting a subterranean city populated entirely by mice.

Next up is framing out the new spaces in the existing structure and pouring our foundation!

Fall Ball

The Pirates made their fall baseball debut this week! Patrick had three big hits and we had a wonderful time getting back together with many friends from spring baseball!

First and Fourth!!!!

Patrick loves Ms. Houston, who plays music while the kids do work and is known to throw a football to the kids when asking questions! This year he will get his own computer to use and can't wait!! Madeline thinks Ms. Evans is "really nice," and reports that she has a very impressive prize box. We're sad our fun summer is over but happy to be back in the swing of things!

Written on Patrick's Heart

Homework last night was to decorate his notebook with family photos and put the things that are important to him into this heart.

Memories From the Barnacle

Friendship bracelets, go-karts, and a ridiculously fun see-saw were not the fun times I was expecting on this Cape Cod vacation, but The Barnacle cottage held many unexpected surprises, as well as many old faves.
